{de}lurking

a week late, but {de}lurking nonetheless. and in perfect time, as I've been so disjointed from here lately, it's about time for me to re-introduce myself.
I'm amy. Today is my 33rd birthday. I am due to have my first kiddo in 4 and a half short weeks. I'm rather shy...or better put, a bit hard to get to know at first. I am a better listener than talker. My family {which includes my dog henry} and friends are very important to me. My sister is Jen of scissorspaperglue. My mom still lives in the same house we grew up in. My dad passed away suddenly of a heart attack when I was 11. I think this has a lot to do with my independence. I love it when people tell me I look or remind them of him. I have had the same best friend since 6th grade, and I have known her since pre-school. I need to work less and travel, relax and make more. I need to say no more often. I need my own time and space or I go nutty. I have lived in California my entire life, but dream of someday living in a another state or even another country. I manage a small in-house art studio for a large advertising agency. I have worked at the same agency for over 9 years. I met my husband here a bit over 8 years ago. He is a writer. A really talented writer who amazes me and makes me laugh every day. In 2001, I began posy press doing small production runs of paper goods in the likes of cards, stationery, bound journals and albums. In 2004, posy press began designing, printing and producing custom wedding invitations. I still love and enjoy posy press. I love to learn and try new things. I am nervous at how my life will change once I am a mother. But mostly, I am excited at the possiblity of the change it may bring.

now you....

Happy belated birthday dear Amy. You and your sister have so many traits of your Dad, and your Mom. Two of the most amazing people I have ever known.
Yes, you are on your way to welcome in a new life that will make your life even more beautiful than you can ever imagine. I love you so much....Love Aunt Sharon

I've really enjoyed reading your blog so far! Everything is so exciting for you lately!! I wanted to let you know that I "tagged" you on my blog today for listing 6 weird things about yourself. I got tagged today and figured since you were re-introducing yourself it might be fun. Obviously you don't have to do it! :)
